Privacy Policy

The short version
ConvoVault runs entirely inside your browser. There is no backend, no database, and no account. Your conversations are processed on your device and never sent over the network. We do not collect, store, or sell your data — because there is nowhere for it to go.
What we access
The extension requests the minimum permissions required to do its job. It reads the conversation shown in the active browser tab when you trigger an export, and it writes to your browser’s local storage to remember your preferences (such as which fields to include). These permissions are scoped to the four supported chat domains: chatgpt.com, gemini.google.com, grok.com, and claude.ai.
What leaves your device
Nothing. Exports are generated in your browser and either copied to your clipboard or downloaded as a file directly to your machine. The “continue in another app” feature stages a conversation in local storage for roughly five minutes so it can be opened in a new chat, and then it is cleared automatically.
Analytics and tracking
None. There are no analytics scripts, no usage counters, no telemetry, and no third-party trackers bundled with the extension.
Third-party services
The extension is distributed through browser vendor stores (such as the Chrome Web Store and Mozilla Add-ons), which are governed by their own privacy policies. If you choose to support the project via the donation link, that transaction is handled by the payment provider and is subject to its privacy policy.
Children’s privacy
ConvoVault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If the extension’s data practices ever change, we will update this page. Because nothing is sent to us, any change here reflects only what happens on your device.
